Wow! Moving is a pain in the ___.

Posted by on Mar 28, 2013 in Blog | 0 comments

I will never, ever, move again. Take me out of here in a pine box and as I have a forest, that won’t be hard to do. It has taken me nearly seven months to just get myself organized, do some new work, so much demanding my attention, but a little spare time right now before supper to share what I’ve done lately. I made these for my kitchen table, chair seats and matching placemats.  One side is the yellow colourway and the other side is the green colourway. If one side gets dirty, I can flip to the other side for a few more days. Who’s got time for laundry?

Sooo many quilts.

Posted by on Dec 11, 2012 in Blog | 0 comments

I’m selling some of my quilts. I have waaaayyy to many. The difficulty is that for every quilt we design, we try to make it up in other fabric beforehand to make sure our dimensions, etc. are correct. Soooo … the first two I’m putting on are two table runners.  Nice gifts for Christmas.  They are $65.00 each. Designed and made by – ME.

18 X 58 inches  100% new cotton fabric. Please note I have a cat and can’t guarantee fur-free for those with allergies.

What a summer! Grandkids and their parents from Texas visiting, new granddaughter born in July – So cute!  And moving to the country August 1st.  My first reactio: WTF  What have we done? It’s too big! It’s too country!  It’s all green. Where’s the pavement?  Getting settled in now. I even found time to make this cute dress for my new granddaughter.

http://www.made-by-rae.com/2008/04/free-itty-bitty-baby-dress-pattern/  Original pattern here. I decided to topstitch the bodice to hold it in shape. Hope you like it.

Cute dress I made for my grandbaby.

Some pics from my Walk in the park today.  A cool shaped fossil – like a lizard, lovely pond-side lilies and amazing willow trees. These are Ents. Not lilies, irises. Lovely colours for designing.

I knew getting the house and cottage ready for sale would be a huge job, but I had no idea it would be this HUGE a job. But both went up for sale this week, both have already had viewings and I’m on my way out shortly as another viewing is due at 11:00 a.m.    Just telling you this because I’ve been so absent from books, Facebook, blogs, etc.

Quilt Guilds

Posted by on Feb 9, 2012 in Blog | 0 comments

It’s quilt guild tonight! I have belonged to the London Friendship Quilters Guild since 1988. My BFF and I joined, looking for a way to increase our skills in quilting, and enjoy the cmopany of like-minded people. It was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made to join the guild. I was on the executive for seven years, president for three of those and am co-presidenting (my own word) with two other past president this year while the guild goes through a transitional time. When I joined there were approximately 25 members and now we number 100 +.  All guilds go through times of changes and I have found that we are stronger for those occasional transitions.  My guild has been with me on life’s journey, be it raising children, losing parents, empty nesting, and mostly making me laugh. I value each and every member of my guild. (Right about here I feel like I should do a Marine Hoo – rah. Weird)
